Epigallocatechin gallate
Epigallocatechin gallate referred to as EGCG, is a major component
of the biological activity of tea polyphenols, is also the component which
has the highest catechin content. Because of the special stereochemical
structure, EGCG has very strong antioxidant activity, playing an important
role in cancer and cardiovascular disease.
